Reading Recovery® teachers have depended on Resources for Reading®since 1994. We've collected all those hard-to-find items, besides the leveled books, that you need to implement Reading Recovery lessons in your classroom: magnetic letters (yes! we have the Quercetti magnetic letters specified by some Teacher Leaders for Reading Recovery®, magnetic easels & boards, dry erase markers and markerboards, timers, record keeping and organizing materials, reading games & manipulatives, phonics games, alphabet puzzles and posters.
New Reading Recovery Teachers and Teachers-in-Training can obtain the items they need to get set up all together in one convenient kit. Check out our RR Teacher Kits.
Resources for Reading was founded by a Reading Recovery Teacher and ELIC Facilitator to help her fellow teachers locate hard-to-find items for Reading Recovery. We offer a wide variety of early literacy materials and supplies, all kinds of things which should be easy to find but aren't always. We have them all available on a single order with a single set of purchase order paperwork. Our goal is to help save you from running around to several different places gathering your materials. We know that teachers have more important things to do!
Our popular Hard Foam Magnetic Letters are great for Reading Recovery! They don't slip on your magnetic markerboard like the plastic magnetic letters do, and the letter shapes are correct. Take a look at the ML078 Upper Case and the ML079 Lower Case Multi-colored Magnetic Letters for Reading Recovery.
