Magnetic Paint turns any paintable surface into a magnetic playland. Magnetic Paint is a gray latex primer that makes any surface able to attract and hold magnets. It is child safe and non-toxic.
Use Magnetic Paint like any latex interior paint; consult a paint expert for tips and advice on surface preparation so that latex paint will stick well. This is real Magnetic Paint, not an additive. Don't confuse real paint with a powdered mix-in!
Be sure to mix the magnetic paint thoroughly before use, and stir often while you are painting, as the iron particles will tend to separate out as you work.
Apply at least 2 coats, the more coats the better (we've used 3 coats of this magnetic paint with excellent results using magnetic foam letters, such as our ML078 Upper Case or ML079 Lower Case letters; we recommend 4-5 coats of magnetic paint for using molded plastic magnetic letters (the kind with a small magnet embedded in the back).
NOTE: magnetic paing is not suitable for heavier objects or ceramic magnets. You will not be able to hang your coffee cup on a magnetic hook on your wall painted with magnetic paint.
After the magnetic paint dries, you can apply wallpaper or your favorite color of a paint top-coat latex paint right over the magnetic paint, and your surface is now magnetic.
You can paint your classroom wall with magnetic paint, then cover it with the same color paint as before, and no one will ever know unless they stick a magnet to it! [Remember, you didn't hear it from us!]
The 1-pint can covers 12-15 square feet with two coats, depending on how you prepare the surface before painting.
NOTE: Magnetic Paint may not be shipped by mail or by air, per FAA and postal regulations. It can only be shipped by UPS Ground or truck. Unfortunately, we can ship magnetic paint only to the 48 contiguous states. We can not ship paint by mail or by air; this means we can not ship to APO/FPO addresses, Alaska, Hawaii, or to other countries.
